Touri de Timor
Race
The Tour de Timor is an international mountain bike race, held in stages in Timor Leste.
Famed for its smooth seaside rides, gruelling climbs, spectacular mountain views and unprecedented crowd support, riders will be treated to a rare and special insight into Timor’s unique geography, environment, people and culture.
Roads across Timor-Leste vary from smooth modern bitumen roads, gravel mixes to dirt and mountain bike tracks. Beware of the odd spectacular pothole!
Sail Darwin - Dili
The Darwin Dili Yacht Rally is a major event in Timor-Leste’s calendar of events, sponsored by the Timor-Leste Ministry of Tourism to promote the development of the Timor-Leste’s marine tourism industry. In 2013 a fleet of 10 yachts and 60 crew set sail for Dili, Timor-Leste, at 10.00am on Saturday 13 July in 8-10 knots of breeze, making for a great spinaker start. Mango Madness from Darwin, skippered by Bo Whaton, was the first yacht over the start line, followed closely by Gameset and Australian Maid.
Caravana Artisticas
V Governo Constitucional, através do Ministério do Turismo, organizou uma caravana artística dedicada ao tema: “O dia de amanhã começa hoje”, no dia 26 de Maio, em Díli. A caravana partiu de Taci-Tolu com destino ao Palácio do Governo.Integrado nas comemorações do XI Aniversário da Restauração da Independência de Timor-Leste, este evento teve como objectivo promover o talento da juventude e incentivá-la a participar mais activamente no desenvolvimento do País e da cultura nacional, e servir como atractivo turístico.
DILI NIGHT LIFE: SUNSET FAIR
The inspiration for the Dili Sunset Fair was drawn from a recent visit to the highly successful Mindil Beach Markets in Darwin by the Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Industry, Mr Gil Alves, who was impressed with the range of local and international products on sale and the large numbers of visitors to the event, which has become one of Darwin’s leading tourism attractions and a major contributor to the economy of the Northern Territory.
